In the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, we find this beautiful apartment located in a building from 1911. We access it via a direct lift, giving us maximum privacy. Renovated with exquisite taste and high-quality finishes. As soon as we enter, a feeling of placidity and well-being invades us. The finesse with which the renovation has been carried out is crucial to maintain the balance of shapes, materials and qualities, and thus combine the original spirit of the apartment with the comfort of modern needs. The original mosaics have been preserved, restoring them, and have been combined with a warm parquet. The ceilings are high and decorated with rosettes and mouldings. In the living room, the original restored beams and the Catalan vault have been maintained, leaving the bricks exposed. The apartment offers us an open entrance to the living room. We are invaded by light, because in the living room we have two balconies overlooking an emblematic street in the Gothic Quarter, which was formerly known as the area where clay vases and objects were made. How nice to enjoy an environment with so much history and to be able to relive it. All the doors have respected their original design and have been manufactured with modern materials with double-chamber glass, which protects the entire house from climatic changes. From the living room we access the kitchen. Outside, we also have access to the street through a balcony. The kitchen is spectacular, as shown in the photos, combining mosaics and the latest design materials, marble and state-of-the-art energy-saving appliances. It is comfortable and spacious. Now comes the pleasant surprise, as we mentioned, the skill of the architects-interior designers, which has led to the creation of a large suite that is accessed from the open entrance, through a glass wall created with wrought iron that occupies the entire dividing space between the two spaces. It is a very ingenious solution to give us even more spaciousness in the spaces, more light, and more comfort. The suite, with a window to the interior patio, has a large, modern bathroom, respecting the spirit of the building, with a bathtub and shower. Next we find a double room, with access to a charming, secluded courtyard, where the views are very pleasant, as the neighbouring farms are full of flowers and plants. It is a very pleasant feeling to go out onto the balcony and breathe this feeling of tranquillity and peace. Finally, a youthful and cute bathroom, complete with shower, serves this room. We are located just a few metres from the sea and Plaza Catalunya, very close to Las Ramblas and the cathedral.
