Chalet 3 rooms, Comares

A very traditional village house, needing a little updating, on three levels, in the heart of Comares village

In the centre of Comares this interesting house is totally typical of the original village houses. With many of its original features, the house just needs a little imagination and ‘home-making’ to transform it.

From the front door, we walk into a living room with beams and an original fireplace typical of this local area, with a plaster surrounded painted in vibrant green. It still has the original jars, built into the wall, where oil and water were kept, delivered daily by mule door to door. A door from the living room leads up a few steps to the bathroom, and also down to a bodega. Off the living room is a small dining room, also with beams, and an old fashioned kitchen, with a door leading down steps to a lower patio. From the patio there is a door to an additional room with a fireplace which could possibly make a good office or a fourth bedroom.

Upstairs (there are two sets of stairs) are three bedrooms (one very large one, a double room and a single room) and the stairs continue up to a roof terrace with lovely views over the village, mountains and even out towards the sea in the distance.

This house, whilst fully habitable, is not set up for the standards of modern living and hence could be improved to make it more comfortable, with details such as a second bathroom etc.
