La Manga or La Manga del Mar Menor - a peninsula in Spain located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Minor Sea (Mar Menor) near Murcia. La Manga is located by the city of Cartagena. It is 22 km long and about 100 m wide. Here you will find everything you expect from a holiday in this country: sunny and sandy beaches, blue sea, amazing views and tasty food.

It is an ideal holiday destination, flanked on one side by the Minor Sea, or Mar Menor, which is technically a bay, and on the other by the Mediterranean.

La Manga, which means 'sleeve' in Spanish, is located on the Costa Calida in the Region of Murcia. It is 24 kilometres long and at its narrowest point less than 40-50 metres wide. It is a bit like Spain's Hel Spit, of course, with a warmer and saltier sea and less lush vegetation.

The peninsula's location means that already in June there is heat and warm sea water. Not surprisingly, the region is popular with water sports enthusiasts - windsurfers and kite surfers - as well as fans of snorkelling or diving.

Some of the more popular beaches on both the Mediterranean and the Lesser Sea include Cala del Pino, Playa Mistral, Playa del Barco Perdido, Playa del Pudrimel, Mahalo Beach, Cala Reona, Playa la Gola, Playa del Pudrimel, Playa del Estacio, Playa de Cavanna, Playa del Banco del Tabal, Playa de Puerto Bello or Playa Paraíso.

Diving fans, on the other hand, should visit Isla Grossa, El Fallon Cabo de Palos, and the Isla Hormigas Marine Reserve. The latter is one of the best diving sites in all of Spain.

The La Manga peninsula can be reached by arriving at the San Javier airport in Murcia, but there are no direct flights from Poland yet.

The nearest airport with flights from the country on the Vistula is El Altet in Alicante. The drive to La Manga from Alicante will take about 1.5 hours.
